The product is Get Gone, a non-toxic adhesive residue remover. My main target market would be auto equipment shops. The most common need for use of a sticker remover would be when trying to clean it off of a car. It's annoying to peel of a sticker or label and have that sticky back left over. You could spend an hour or more trying to scar that stuff off with a razor balde, or you could spray Get Gone! Just spray it on and wipe it off. No waiting and no extra mess.
I came up with the idea when a friend of mine was trying to remove old stickers off of her bedroom wall. We spent 45 minutes scraping the stickers off and got frustrated with the mess that they still left behind. The first advantage of Get Gone is that it's a non toxic product. Similar products can be dangerous to kids and pets because they can't be mistakenly consumed or breathed in but, Get Gone is completely harmless to the body. The second advantage is that Get Gone simply sprays on and wipes off. Competitors might make you apply their product then sit and wait while it does what it's supposed to or, work vigorously scraping off the residue. Not Get Gone! All you need to do is spray it on the gunk and immediately wipe it off again, leaving nothing behind. This product is stil under development.
The product which I will plan my business around is the Recycled Greenhouse. This greenhouse, which is traditionally 6’x8’, is composed of over 1,400 recycled plastic bottles. These bottles, which are collected from community members on an ongoing basis, efficiently retain thermal energy on a comparable rate to traditional glass greenhouses. Owners of these buildings can proudly boast they have a fully functioning botanical structure that provides them with the unique opportunity to garden in one of the “greenest” ways possible.
Whether they are a prospective gardener or professional farmer, anyone can benefit from the Recycled Greenhouse. There are no prerequisite skills needed to use the greenhouse, and it is accessible to any who wish to use it. Therefore, the Recycled Greenhouse is the perfect venue for a wide variety of functions, such as parents who wish to teach their children about gardening, retirees who enjoy the therapeutic effects of planting, or the average worker who wishes to use their green thumb on an ongoing basis.
The Recycled Greenhouse has a sharp advantage over competitors, as it is significantly cheaper to construct and maintain. While most greenhouses will cost anywhere from a few hundred dollars to over a thousand, the Recycled Greenhouse will cost no more than two hundred dollars. Maintenance of the greenhouse is insignificant, as recycled bottles are durable, easy to come by and can be interchanged into the structure in a matter of minutes. This is a stark contrast to traditional greenhouses which require professional maintenance with significant cost.
I thought of this idea while brainstorming about a way to reduce waste that community members would view as beneficial and not onerous or time consuming. I chose this idea because I believe the greenhouse will be viewed first as a benefit to the owner, then as a benefit to the environment, though in the end the benefits are equal. Currently, this idea is in the final stages of development.
